Join us for an early spring run (water levels permitting) on the Credit from Inglewood to Glen Williams. Suitable for novices but some competence in moving water is helpful. There are two weirs we must pull over, two other obstacles which can generally be run and possible sweepers to be navigated. A potluck dinner will follow at the home of Rick Sabourin in Erin.
Due to the late thaw this spring we have changed the date from Mar 28th to April 11th.
This clinic is for novice and intermediate whitewater paddlers who want to improve their skills for tripping or play. Couples or individuals are welcome. Certification will be offered for those interested.

EVENT IS FULLY BOOKED May 16-18th LOWER MADAWASKA RIVER Larry Durst, 905- 415-1152 or ldurst@rogers.com . Join us for the annual spring paddle/wine and cheese party and find out first hand why mostly sane, reasonably intelligent and somewhat mature persons subject themselves to the vicissitudes of spring canoe camping. We paddle from above Aumonds Bay to the take out at Griffith, a distance of only 28 km. The pace is leisurely with only the Sunday being a full day of paddling and most of that spent on the Snake Rapids section of the river. Lots of time to play, chat and nibble! Rapids will range from Grade 1 to 4 and there are a couple of short portages around falls. Water levels are likely to be quite high and cold. In the past we have had sun, rain, hail and snow…all on the same day, so participants will need to dress and pack appropriately. Suitable for intermediate level paddlers. Limit six boats. Book early as this trip usually “sells out”. ☺

This will be the third and last day trip for this year before the water level normally begins to decline. The total time normally averages about 6 to 8 hours including the shuttle time duration. A total of 8 rapids after an hour of flatwater paddling.
This trip is a combination of Sudbury's Chiniguchi region which resembles Killarney's white quartzite mountains and turquoise lakes, and Temagami's Sturgeon River which is characterized as the big sister to the Spanish River for its continous CI (mostly) to CII (some) rapids.
If you are looking for a beginner whitewater trip then this trip is for you.
For those who are unable to participate in the posted trip dated on Sunday, June 30th, here is another opportunity to paddle the Lower Madawaska River or anyone wishing to do it again. This day trip normally lasts between 6 and 9 hours with a total of 8 rapids.
New email contact listed below . A nice introduction to moving water on the edge of urban sprawl. The Credit river should still be high enough to paddle from Norval to Meadowvale. No rapids, but plenty of ripples. Lots of bends in the river, ann a shute over the old damn in Huttonville. One dead tree across the entire river below Churchville requires ability to eddy out in advance. Good introduction to moving water, practice eddy turns, or just a lazy day letting the river take you past Greenbelt valley lands in NW Brampton, camp Naivelt, and wildlife in the City.
