Three days on Killarney Lake with day trips, possibly staying an extra night in George Lake campground.
ARE YOU READY FOR AN ADVENTURE?
Come join me, explore the hidden channels of the Pickerel River as it finds it's way to Georgian Bay through classic Canadian Shield theory.
Night one camp at one of the jump-off campsites at the Rain Lake access point. Day 2 paddle Rain Lake searching for an appropriate campsite. Days 2-4 explore Rain Lake and area, hike nearby trail or relax at campsite.
Let's enjoy three days/nights at a nearby wilderness area. Daily paddling outtings. Nearby hiking opportunities.
Join us once again for this Fall Festival weekend canoe trip. This year I have booked a group campsite on Bentshoe Lakes near Haliburton off of hwy 118. As usual the food is the theme for this trip, canoeing is secondary making the one short portage to the lake easy. The lake is small but big enough to explore for the day with adjoining lakes if interested. The permit fee will be split equally among the participants. Saturday’s turkey dinner with all the trimmings will be a group effort. The permit limits us to 8 tents and 16 people; I ask that you share a tent on this trip.
Due to the permit restrictions, I will only take reservations and make confirmation by email or phone only. Sorry no on-line bookings.
Let's enjoy five nights of relaxing on one of the islands at Rock Lake, Algonquin. Daily paddle trips. Four areas of Rock Lake to explore. Hiking opportunities nearby.
This will be a slow pace explore, mark/find portages, look at rock formations and watch for wildlife.

This will be a beaver pond hopping trip through the area of the highest ridges in the park.
There is no promise that all beaver ponds will be in from year to year, there is always a surprise or two.
Even though I rated the trip as Intermediate, novice is not out of the question.
I plan on multiple carries on the portages, (my camera stuff alone is one :) )
The plan is to see/find interesting "stuff"
The Minesing Swamp, centrally located between Barrie and Wasaga Beach, has been identified as the largest and best example of fen bog in southern Ontario. The confluence of the Nottawasaga River with three tributaries provide for an interconnected network of swamps, fens, bogs and marshes. The swamp is an important staging area for thousands of migratory waterfowl, and contains a large heron rookery.
We will enter from Willow Creek, cross the central flood area before joining the Nottawasaga, and follow the river down to Edenvale. A pleasant day’s paddle for canoeists of all skill levels.
This is a loop trip, suitable for novices with some competence in moving water. Option to camp overnight on the 2nd at Loon's Landing in Dry Pine Bay (the Put-in) or at Grundy Lake Provincial Park. Plan on being on the water by 9:00 a.m. on August 3rd. Maximum of 4 boats with two two spots available. Email me directly for more information.
