Itinerary
Itinerary description

We will meet and stay at a cottage just north of Parry Sound on Friday evening, July 12th and drive north early Saturday morning (Alternative carpooling locations can be discussed later if necessary). Our goal is to pick up the permits in the town of Temagami, drive north to the put-in at Gamble Lake than paddle down the Lady-Evelyn River to find our first campsite. Next morning,we will continue canoeing Florence Lake. An extra day has been added to take in Florence Lake’s beauty before continuing our journey south into Solace Provincial Park. The plan is to spend the next couple of days canoeing through Solace P.P. before reaching Scarecrow Lake where an optional hike up to Ishpatina Peak awaits us. Our journey will continue north to Smoothwater Lake where we’ll enjoy one last night before making the turn east for the last leg of the trip. The goal for the last day is to head up to Sunnywater Lake and down than down the other side where the trip will end at Gamble Lake to the south. I have built an extra day into the trip itinerary to finish in the morning of Monday, July 22nd.
Trip Highlights:
• Optional hike up to the Florence Lake Lookout on our day off (1 km long, 165 m elevation gain)
• Optional hike up to Ishpatina Peak; which has the distinction of being the highest elevation in Ontario (3.3 km long, 320 m elevation gain)
• Canoe on Sunnywater Lake; which is part of the highest active canoe route in Temagami
Total Canoeing Distance: 100 km’s,
