Aumond Bay to Buck Bay early in May will hopefully offer challenging whitewater. There are 3 or 4 C3-4 Rapids with portages, but at least intermediate skills are required. After paddling Saturday at our Palmer Rapids Wildwater Prep, your whitewater skills should be wild and ready ! We will get an early start to be off the river before 4pm. Autosign for this trip as there are no camping limits at Jessop's.
Palmer Rapids Wildwater Prep. Work on your front ferry, back ferry, eddy styles, surfing and rescue skills in hopefully high water and sunny weather. Suitable for beginner to advanced whitewater paddlers. BEAT THE bugZ. Frank & Jay will setup their winter tent with woodstove for drying out and warming up at Jessops. Auto signup - there is no max number of paddlers.
Join us for the 10th spring paddle/wine and cheese party and find out first hand why mostly sane, reasonably intelligent and somewhat mature persons subject themselves to the vicissitudes of spring camping.
We paddle from above Aumonds Bay to the take out at Griffith, a distance of only 28 km. The pace is leisurely with only the Sunday being a full day of paddling and most of that spent on the Snake Rapids section of the river. Lots of time to play, chat and nibble! Rapids will range from Grade 1 to 4 and there are a couple of short portages around falls. Water levels are likely to be quite high and cold. In the past we have had sun, rain, hail and snow…all on the same day, so participants will need to dress and pack appropriately. Suitable for intermediate level paddlers. Limit six boats. Book early as this trip “sells out” most years.
PLEASE NOTE THAT PARTICIPANTS SHOULD REGISTER DIRECTLY WITH THE ORGANIZER BY EMAIL AT ldurst@rogers.com. SELF-REGISTRATION IS CLOSED.
Petawawa Wildwater from Lake Travers to McManus features 5 big C3 rapids all with portages and therefore suitable for intermediate paddlers as the rapids offer various options. There are lots of C2 rapids and play spots. The Petawawa even at high water is a great place to challenge your skills as we have even seen relatively novice fishing boaters in Grunmans survive this great long weekend run!
Contact organizer directly by email. No online registratations can be accepted, group size limited.

Rock and roll on the Opeongo and Madawaska Rivers. After many years running these 2 beautiful rivers we have had everything from snow to hot sun. Stay at a local motel or camp at a lovely site where we are serenaded by peepers. Suitable for advanced whitewater paddlers there will be lotza C3 rapids not all of which are land scouted, as we know these rivers intimately.
