Outing Type →

The Bloodvein is an historic aboriginal and settler trade route. It is a well-documented pool and drop river with around 89 class 1, 2 and 3 rapids. We’ll attempt to run most of them and avoid portaging, which anyway are mostly short. We’ll go on VIA Rail train from Union Station to Red Lake, returning via Winnipeg back to Toronto. Then road shuttle to Winnipeg train station on Wednesday August 6th 11.30pm. Arrive at Union Station on Friday Aug 8th 11.30pm. We’ll take will not be shuttling back to the put-in. Cost (excluding food, beverages, fuel, equipment, canoe rental) est. $1,900 - $3,300 (higher for Sleeper on train) Currently we have 5 paddlers and are looking for one more.
