The Mountain River has been described as a 'guides river' as it is 300km of river with whitewater, six canyons, hiking opportunities and wildlife viewing. Whitewater experience is obviously required and also tripping experience.

Itinerary description

We will meet in Norman Wells on the 30th July and fly to Dusty Lake the following day. At the end of the trip we will be having a boat shuttle back to Norman Wells. It is possible to fly out on the same day but normally people stay over another night in Norman Wells. Due to flight schedules it takes two days to fly to Norman Wells.

Required Items to Bring

Canoe rentals are arranged and other items can be rented from the outfitter in Norman Wells.

Recommended Items to Bring

It is recommended to have done a Swiftwater Rescue Course.
