On behalf of the Wilderness Canoe Association, I am pleased to welcome you as a new WCA member. We hope that your WCA membership will be the start of an exciting, entertaining, educational and social adventure.
You have joined a large group of people who are passionate about the natural environment generally, and paddling sports specifically. They are eager to share their knowledge and skills, to organize outings, and to enjoy wilderness paddling with others who share their passion.
We want to ensure that you, as a new member, feel “at home” and at ease so that you can just join right in.

One of the benefits of WCA membership is having the ability to post a WCA event and finding people to join you. Most WCA members live in Canada, with some from the United States and a handful from Europe. The How to Post an Event on the WCA Website guide is available here.
The second, sometimes over looked, benefit is that you, as a WCA event organizer, will be covered with the WCA liability insurance policy for the running of the event. See our website for details (/content/outings-insurance) .
For our Club to remain vital, we encourage everyone to participate actively and to communicate. What do you like about the club? What would you wish to be different or new? Let us know, so that your club meets your expectations. Don’t hesitate to e-mail me, or any member of the Board or our committees, to ask questions or to make suggestions. We look forward to hearing from you, and to meeting in person.
