The Coppermine River is a river in the North Slave and Kitikmeot regions of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut in Canada. It is 845 kilometers long. It rises in Lac de Gras, a small lake near Great Slave Lake, and flows generally north to Coronation Gulf, an arm of the Arctic Ocean. We are planning to do ~400km.
We are looking to start in Yellowknife July 24, 2026. Some of us are going in July 21 to look around. Maybe rent a car and see the surrounding sites.
Bush plane fly in to our starting point is Rocknest Lake or Redrock Lake, NWT on July 25.
Our exit point is the community of Kugluktuk (formerly Coppermine) Nunavut is locate.
Cost of the trip is estimated to be $6500 each, self guided.
We have lots of great info from previous WCA trips.
I rated this trip advance basically not because of the rapids difficult, but more rather the length and remoteness.
If you want to be considered give me a call/email and lets chat.
We have now 4 solid people on the trip and looking for 2 more.
