Barron Canyon - Algonquin Park Fall Colours!

Come join me in Algonquin Park to take in the fall colours! A beautiful day trip, we will start by hiking the short lookout trail, before shuttling cars and boats. We'll run the section from Brigham Lake to Squirrel Depot Rapids.

This is a flatwater trip. Three easy, well-maintained portages.

Itinerary description

We're going to meet up at 10 am at the Barron Canyon Lookout Trail: https://maps.app.goo.gl/6W4SjsNNcXwda2PV6

We will have a look at the canyon from above before shuttling our cars and boats to get on the river. We'll begin our trip from the Brigham Lake put in, and take out at Squirrel Depot Rapids.

A daily vehicle permit (DVP) is required for access to the park. You can purchase one in advance here: Create Reservation

 

Required Items to Bring

Boat, paddle, PFD, water, lunch/snacks, rain gear (just in case).

Standard Transport Canada safety equipment.
