EXTENDED Rouge River Creeking to Lake Ontario

Outing Type →

This event will run together with Gary's Rouge River Creeking event but make it a longer day by continuing on to Lake Ontario. If you are interested, please sign up for this event and unjoin Gary's event so we can keep things clear between the two groups.

The total distance will be around 26 km and we could finish as late as 6 or 7 pm. I have gotten word that the rest of the river below Old Finch is similar in character to the upper section (class 1 to 1.5 creek with lots of obstacles), with 3 km of flatwater paddling to end the day.

Itinerary
Itinerary description

Start time is together with Gary's group at 9 am. We can organize our own car shuttle if it makes sense, or my current plan is to do a bus shuttle by leaving all cars at the take-out and riding TTC routes 54 and 102D back to the put-in. This would mean leaving from the put-in at 7:30 to drive to the takeout and then catching the bus at 8 from the takeout.

Required Items to Bring

Whitewater boat and gear
Dry or wet suit
Water/food for the whole day
Extra layers to put on if you get cold or wet

Gary's put-in is at the big parking lot in the Milne Dam Conservation Park:

If we do a bus shuttle, we can put in at the dam since it's closer to the bus stop:
