Looking for a white water paddler for 7-weeks in the Arctic

Hi,

I am hoping to join a couple of biologists on the Dubwant and Kunwak Rivers this summer. I am looking for a partner. I love the north and have co-organized a number of trips to the barren lands. Being on the land gives me grounding. It gives me a purpose to live, really. I love to provide food by fishing and generally invite a sense of adventure and cherish the awe of nature.
You need tot be able to paddle class 3 rapids, and most importantly give yourself 7 weeks of time to do this journey.

New Member/Experienced Tripper available to join outings

Good Morning,

I am looking to expand my canoe tripping, and realize that my small group of long time paddle-mates will not be able to do so.

I am interested in trips of all sorts. Fishing, to me is a large component of any canoe outing. I am very well equipped, experienced & tend not to be a burden on a trip. I have excess gear/canoes to share, and am willing to do most anything.

I live in Massachusetts, and have historically paddled on trips within 8-10 hours driving. This gets me to Southern/central Ontario, (Algonquin & North), Quebec (Verendrye & North), as well as northern Maine & Upstate NY.

I get to Maine several times per year, paddling St. John, St. Croix, Allagash, etc...

Would love to trip in Labrador, Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario, as well as a bucket list trip to Woodlands Caribou.

I am also interested in meeting/joining up with others to create trips well off the beaten path. Exploration, navigation, and difficult/non-existent portages make trips memorable to me.

Having read Black Spruce Journals, and Kevin Callahan's lost Canadian canoe routes, I relish the opportunity to refind them.

Sorry for the long post.

Partner for a late season paddle

Hello, I am a novice ww paddler looking to enjoy some outdoors and ww practice the end of September or early October. I was thinking the Noire, Petawawa or Minden Whitewater Preserve. Anywhere with high enough water. I have a 15’ Esquif Prospecteur and transportation, l have general camping stuff but lack the cooking side. I need to finish my present contract but once done and as long as school is going smoothly I can take 4 days+/-.

Looking for Additional Participants for Guided Horton River Expedition July 2020

Looking for additional participants to take part in planned trip on Arctic Canada's famed Horton River. I am one of three currently signed to traverse the full 400 miles of the river from Horton Lake to the Arctic Ocean - about 3 and a half weeks. (Half river options 12 days.) Five are needed to make the trip viable with three canoes, participants and one outfitter guide. You may choose full river or select upper or lower segments. Max size for either leg would be ten participants/2 guides.

Upper Horton: Horton Lake to midpoint July 6-18
Lower Horton : Midpoint to virtual end of river near ocean outflow July 18-30

Allow couple of days before and after trip dates for commercial flights to and from Yellowknife and then to bush flight departure/return locations....Norman Wells and Inuvik.

Outfitter supplies: Canoes, tents, food, guide(s), overnight lodging at NW and Inuvik, bush flights to/from insertion/extraction points.

Skills largely beginner with some intermediate, largely for moderate rapids just after midpoint (lower river). Past trips report great fishing, lots of wildlife from wolves, musk oxen, caribou, bears, wolverines, etc. plus beautiful high arctic hills and plateaus. Nearly 24 hour sunlight and often evening hikes to tops of river valley for sweeping views. Lower includes visit to famed "burning hills" - deposits of lignite which have been slowly smouldering for many years with exposure to air. Also a chance for a final plunge in the Arctic Ocean if you are up to it.

More information via this forum and outfitter website: jackpinepaddle.com and then check Horton River entries under Expeditions including photos. Further info via Dan Wong - info@jackpinepaddle.com and tell him Doug sent you.

Looking for camping bro partner

Hello, I am a 33 year-old male living in Toronto. I make a lot of time for camping as I am self employed and am looking for another bro who is similar in age who would be interested in getting out into some parks together. I camp year round. If anyone is interested, I would propose grabbing a beer together and seeing if we could make a good trip happen soon. This year I have done: Massasauga, Kawartha, Haliburton, Puzzle Lake, Algonquin, French River, Restoule, Steel River and Killarney. Hoping there are some like minded people around who are tired of the solo tripping!

The Elora Gorge with the Guelph Kayak Club

As the spring water levels are receding, I am intending to start meeting up with the Guelph Kayak Club in order to paddle the Elora Gorge on Sundays.

The GKC meets every Sunday, 11am, at the 7464 Middlebrook Rd. baseball diamond parking lot in Elora Ontario.

See below.

I have all of, a solo playboat, tandem tripping prospector, and tandem playboat suitably outfitted. The tandem playboat in particular needs to get some use, so please join me. Send an email to the webmaster from the contacts page.

Saturday 11 May 2019

Well, here I wait to see if anyone reads these forums regularly.
I have decided that the Moira River is too far away to go paddling for just a day, while the weather approaching this weekend seems to be ideal for another outing on Saturday.

I live within a half hour drive of the Lower Credit from Streetsville, and would to do it again.
We just need two cars and two boats to make a shuttle.

If I can't find anyone else, I may pay a taxi for the shuttle and go myself.
