Quetico: Nym-Sturgeon-Jean-Batchewaung Loop 120km

Quetico is an iconic wilderness class park renowned for its rugged beauty, towering rock cliffs, majestic waterfalls, virgin pine and spruce forests, picturesque rivers and lakes. It is a world famous destination for backcountry canoeing with over 2,000 lakes and 4,760 km2 of remote wilderness. It's located at north-west of Lake Superior, 1600km away from Toronto.

We will start at Nym Lake. This loop combines a wide variety of paddling environments including large and small lakes, rivers, creeks, and historic portages. Total portages: 20 / 6,560m. The longest one: 730m. We will spend seven days on the water. Plus driving, the entire trip will take about 9-10 days.

Due to uncertainty of the campsites (the campsites and portages are not signed in the park) and no guarantee of their size, I am limiting the group size to six. You need to be self-sufficient and in good health in order to handle unforeseen situations. Intermediate backcountry canoeing experience is necessary.

I will request a deposit to cover the park permits when time gets closer. Then I will set up a group chat among those who have confirmed the trip for preparations.
