Larder River

Mother’s Day weekend getaway. My daughter and I had planned this outing last year but fuel prices shocked me into a closer to home paddle down the York. We are looking forward to it in 2023! This is a long weekend outing and not too remote. Both the WCA and Backcountry Explorer have great trip reports on YouTube. This paddle seems to have lots of waterfalls, swift river running and the ruins of the early mining industry. This is a “family trip,” so a relaxed pace and welcoming atmosphere.
Larder Lake docks to Blanche River bridge; 55km, 3 days.
